Food4Thoth I Ching Oracle

This Privacy Policy describes how Food4Thoth I Ching Oracle (the “App”), developed and operated by Food4Thoth / Artabillies (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about our data practices.
The App is designed with privacy as a default. We collect no personally identifiable information (PII). Below is a complete summary of what the App does and does not access:
Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to use, share, sell, or process. The App operates entirely offline for all core divination and storage functions.
The only “processing” that occurs is purely local: your photo or fractal drawing is analyzed on your device to generate a hexagram value, and that result may be saved to your device’s local storage if you choose to save your reading. Neither the input nor the output is transmitted anywhere.
The App requests access to your Photo Library solely to enable the Photo Oracle feature. When you select a photo:
You may revoke photo library access at any time in your device’s Settings → Privacy → Photos. Revoking access disables the Photo Oracle feature but does not affect any other App functionality.
The App does not request camera access. All image input comes from your existing photo library only.
The App uses AsyncStorage (a standard local device storage mechanism) to save:
This data is stored using the key prefix iching_
in your device’s local storage. It is never synced to the cloud,
never backed up to our servers, and is permanently deleted when you
uninstall the App or use the “Clear Readings” function within the App.
Standard device backups (e.g., iCloud on iOS or Google Drive on Android) may include locally stored App data as part of device-level backup. This is controlled entirely by your device’s backup settings and your chosen cloud provider — not by us.
The App loads the yarrow stalk animation frames from a publicly accessible content delivery network (jsDelivr CDN via GitHub) when animations are enabled. This is a one-way image download. No user data, device identifiers, or personal information is sent to jsDelivr as part of this request — only a standard HTTP request for image assets.
jsDelivr’s CDN may log standard server-side request data (such as IP address and request timestamp) as part of normal CDN operation. This is subject to jsDelivr’s own Privacy Policy.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the App collects no personal information from any user, there is no mechanism by which we could inadvertently collect data from minors.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, please be assured that no personal data has been collected or transmitted.
Because all data remains on your device and we transmit nothing to external servers, the primary security of your reading history and preferences is provided by your device’s own security mechanisms (passcode, Face ID, fingerprint lock, etc.).
We encourage you to keep your device software up to date and use a device passcode or biometric lock to protect the data stored by all your apps, including this one.
You have full control over all data associated with the App:
California Residents (CCPA): Because we collect no personal information, the California Consumer Privacy Act rights to access, delete, or opt-out of sale of personal information are satisfied by default — there is nothing to access, delete beyond what you can already control, or sell.
EU / EEA Residents (GDPR): Because we collect no personal data, GDPR obligations regarding data subject rights, lawful basis for processing, and data transfers do not apply to our operations. Your data never leaves your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide notice through an App update.
Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
