Food4Thoth I Ching Oracle — All Editions (Lite, PRO, Ornate Elite)

This Privacy Policy describes how the Food4Thoth I Ching Oracle apps — including the Lite, PRO, and Ornate Elite editions (collectively, the “App”) — developed and operated by Food4Thoth / Artabillies (“we,” “us,” or “our”), handle your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being fully transparent about our data practices.
The App is designed with privacy as a default. We collect no personally identifiable information (PII). Below is a complete summary of what the App does and does not access:
Since we do not collect personal information, there is no personal data for us to use, share, sell, or process. The App operates entirely offline for all core divination and storage functions.
The only “processing” that occurs is purely local: your photo or fractal drawing is analyzed on your device to generate a hexagram value, and that result may be saved to your device’s local storage if you choose to save your reading. Neither the input nor the output is transmitted anywhere.
The App may request access to your Photo Library, Camera, and Media Library for the following specific purposes:
You may revoke any of these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings → Privacy. Revoking photo or camera access disables the Photo Oracle feature. Revoking media library access disables the reading export feature. No other App functionality is affected.
In the PRO and Ornate Elite editions, the App can send you a daily hexagram notification — a push notification containing the hexagram of the day, its name, and its Judgement text. This feature is entirely optional.
The App uses AsyncStorage (a standard local device storage mechanism) to save:

in your device’s local storage. It is never synced to the cloud,
never backed up to our servers, and is permanently deleted when you
uninstall the App or use the “Clear Readings” function within the App.
Standard device backups (e.g., iCloud on iOS or Google Drive on Android) may include locally stored App data as part of device-level backup. This is controlled entirely by your device’s backup settings and your chosen cloud provider — not by us.
All fractal generation, coin toss simulations, divination logic, sound synthesis, and yarrow stalk animation frames run entirely on-device using self-contained code and locally bundled assets. The App makes no network requests during normal use and functions fully without an internet connection.
The in-app review prompt (available in PRO and Ornate Elite after 3 saved readings) uses the platform’s native review API (Apple App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android). This interaction is handled entirely by the operating system. We do not receive, store, or have access to any review content you submit.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the App collects no personal information from any user, there is no mechanism by which we could inadvertently collect data from minors.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, please be assured that no personal data has been collected or transmitted.
Because all data remains on your device and we transmit nothing to external servers, the primary security of your reading history and preferences is provided by your device’s own security mechanisms (passcode, Face ID, fingerprint lock, etc.).
We encourage you to keep your device software up to date and use a device passcode or biometric lock to protect the data stored by all your apps, including this one.
You have full control over all data associated with the App:
California Residents (CCPA): Because we collect no personal information, the California Consumer Privacy Act rights to access, delete, or opt-out of sale of personal information are satisfied by default — there is nothing to access, delete beyond what you can already control, or sell.
EU / EEA Residents (GDPR): Because we collect no personal data, GDPR obligations regarding data subject rights, lawful basis for processing, and data transfers do not apply to our operations. Your data never leaves your device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will provide notice through an App update.
Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
